wHAT WE OFFER

Compass Cottage in the heart of the town of Wooler and is located directly on St Cuthberts Way, on the doorstep of The Cheviot Hills and a short drive to the stunning Northumberland coast or Scottish Borders.

Design

Compass Cottage is a charming period stone 3-bedroom holiday cottage equipped with all the amenities and home comforts to provide an enjoyable and comfortable holiday

Bedrooms

There are 3 good size bedrooms, including 2 bedrooms each with a King size bed, and a 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds, all of the bedrooms have suitable drawers and hanging space.

Living Room

The spacious living room has ample seating, a wood burning stove for those cold winter nights, and a Smart TV with Netflix and Disney Plus available to guests.

Dining Room

The dining room has a dining table with seating for 6 people and wall mounted TV and the fully equipped kitchen with fridge / freezer, microwave, oven, Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, dishwasher and a washing machine

Bathroom

The newly refurbished bathroom comprises of a WC, hand basin and easy to access good size shower cubicle.

Accessibility and Comfort

There is gas central heating with radiators and fast Wi-Fi coverage throughout the cottage – there are 6 steps from the ground floor to the 3 bedrooms.

Baby Friendly

There is a travel cot, mattress and high chair available in the cottage.

Garden

Outside there is an enclosed garden with outdoor seating and a gate that leads directly onto a playing field with good dog walks, access to a small children’s playpark and amazing views of the nearby hills both to the North and West

Cheviot Hills

On your doorstep you have the picturesque Cheviot Hills with many amazing peaks, walking trails, scenery, and waterfalls, after a short drive to the coast you could stroll on one of the many of the beautiful and unspoilt beaches along miles of amazing coastline,

Coastlines

All along the miles of stunning coastline there are many wonderful historical castles and amazing beaches to explore or visit St Cuthberts monastery at the Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island

Towns

Not far away there are plenty of interesting market towns to visit such as Alnwick, Morpeth or Berwick upon Tweed, how about visiting one of the stately homes such as Wallington Hall or Cragside, the former home of Lord Armstrong which was the first house in the world to be lit by electricity, if your thing is to escape to the wild and rugged area of Northumberland then the stunning cheviot hills are right on your doorstep. Maybe visit one of the many history-packed towns in the Scottish Borders such as Coldstream, Kelso, Melrose, Jedburgh or Hawick

Northumberland is also renowned for its Golf Courses, having both links and parkland courses within a short distance, there are 9-hole golf course near Wooler and Belford and 18 hole golf courses at Seahouses, Alnmouth, Bamburgh Castle, Burgham, Dunstanburgh Castle, Linden Hall or Goswick

Wildlife

For bird watchers and nature lovers this part of Northumberland has a wide range of habitats and is perfect for watching the varied birdlife along the coast at anytime of the year or in the nearby hills in the Spring and Summer months, look out for the Seals around Lindisfarne Harbour, check out the characteristic puffins and the variety of seabirds by taking a boat ride out to the Farne Islands, you are guaranteed to see seals and in with a good chance of spotting a dolphin or two.
